For social entrepreneurs, starting a business is not just about drawing profits. Fuelled by the desire to contribute back to their community, social entrepreneurs are looking to find ways to build businesses with heart where they blend two goals together - earning profits and generating impact on the marginalised groups.

Social entrepreneurship, however, is not without its difficulties. There are issues with generating ideas, funding as well as ensuring sustainability and scalability for the social venture. Our speakers include:

Romy Cahyadi, founder CEO of Instellar, was inspired by his experience as an entrepreneur and the realisation that businesses could play a role in creating lasting impact in societies. Thus, Instellar with born with the aim of incubating and accelerating social innovation.

Indri Mahadiraka, founder and CEO of Save Yourselves, started Save Yourselves, a mental healthcare platform that tackles the mental health problems and its stigma for youths in Indonesia. From a simple initiative to help people, Save Yourselves has moved from strength to strength and in June 2017, it was entered as the best startup of the Health and Lifestyle Vertical category and emerged as the top 6 in Asia.

Nanda Putra, founder and CEO of Tanijoy, aims to help small farmers in Indonesia break the vicious cycle of poverty. Using technology, Tanijoy helps to cut out the middlemen and provide fair prices to both farmers and consumers alike.
