Co.Lab for Health Innovation is an event that brings together creative and collaborative ideas to address social issues with a positive impact. This event is jointly organized by PLUS and LINKAGES, a non-profit organization focused on improving human quality of life using integrated local solutions. The program aims to enhance the quality and effectiveness of HIV testing through a collaborative ideation process. To support the ideation process, PLUS provides workshops on topics such as Human-Centered Design (HCD) and Social Business Model Canvas (SBMC) to think and empathize from different perspectives. Essentially, empathy is the ability to see the world through the eyes of others, to see what they see, feel what they feel, and experience things as they experience them. Mastering empathy helps us set aside our own assumptions about the world to gain insights into users and their needs. This allows us to create successful and targeted solutions to the challenges faced by stakeholders and users.
More than 90% of participants felt that the ideation process was very engaging and they would like to contribute and be involved in the future. Participants also felt that for further involvement, they need to address several specific barriers, including stigma, lack of government regulations, and how to manage time amidst their busy schedules.
