Climate change brings problems on agricultural aspects, such as failing of agriculture product and excessive on the food chain. Southeast Asia is highly vulnerable to climate change as a significant proportion of the population, and economic activity is concentrated along coastlines; the region is heavily reliant on agriculture for livelihoods; there is a high dependence on natural resources and forestry, and the level of extreme poverty remains high.
All of these problems will affect the food security of the nation. ASEAN agriculture should adopt the Climate-Sustainable Agriculture for the sustainability of its products despite climate change.
ASEAN Youth Development partnership with National Chung Hsing University initiate Agriculture Summit for all ASEAN region agriculture students, academia, researcher, experts and practitioners for learning about Climate-Sustainable Agriculture from its expert, Taiwan. It will be held on 10 - 14 November 2018.
The conference is organized jointly by Asean Youth Development Center and supported by Formmit (Forum Mahasiswa Muslim Indonesia di Taiwan), IAAS Indonesia, ISMPI (Ikatan Senat Mahasiswa Pertanian Indonesia) and partnership with National Chung Hsing University (NCHU).
