More than two years after the program ended, PLUS returned to Amed to observe the progress of Koperasi MPIG (Community for the Protection of Geographical Indication) Garam Amed in preserving the salt-making tradition through business initiatives. We explored how the cooperative’s management and salt farmers have adapted the lessons learned from the Mekarya program into their daily routines. We also gathered feedback and suggestions from external stakeholders, which are valuable for enhancing the cooperative’s capacity and supporting the sustainability of salt farmers in Amed.
