Unilever Young Entrepreneur Awards

June 20, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

If you’ve got an initiative, product or service already in action that’s tackling a sustainability problem, or you know someone else whose brilliant work deserves recognition, we want to hear from you. This year, the Awards will recognise initiatives in eight key areas :

  1. Zero Hunger
  2. Good Health and Well-Being
  3. Quality Education
  4. Gender Equality
  5. Clean Water and Sanitation
  6. Decent Work and Economic Growth
  7. Responsible Consumption and Production
  8. Climate Action

Who can enter?

Anyone from around the world (excluding Russia), aged between 18 and 35 (as of 29 June 2018), who is working on an initiative in one of our eight categories detailed on the previous page.

The initiative must have already progressed beyond the idea stage and started making an impact.

What is the selection process?

The Young Entrepreneurs Awards will recognise up to eight winners in 2018, selected through a rigorous and competitive assessment process, coordinated by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, and involving expert panellists from Unilever and the sustainability, innovation and social enterprise sectors. Read more about the process.

What can entrepreneurs win?

Up to eight winners will attend a three day accelerator programme at the University of Cambridge, where they will receive support from expert faculty on building and further developing their initiative. Two days of pitching to a guest judging panel will determine an overall winner who will receive the ‘HRH Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize’.

The ‘HRH Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize’ winner will receive a €50,000 cash award and the remaining seven winners will each receive a €8,500 cash award.

All eight winners will also receive tailored business mentoring services for 12 months provided by experts from Unilever and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. This could range from business support and connections through to personal development coaching – whatever is most needed to help each winner.

All winners will attend a special prize ceremony in London.
